Dr Revana Chanerika
Biography:
I obtained my PhD in Heterogeneous Catalysis at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2022 before joining the Catalysis Institute at the University of Cape Town as a Post-Doctoral Researcher under Professor Michael Claeys. I have research expertise in several hydrogenation and oxidation projects in the fields of Heterogeneous and Homogeneous Catalysis which also encompasses materials/project design, analytical instrumentation and batch/continuous flow reactors. Since energy security and environmental concerns are at the core of current and future industrial and technological advancement, my research projects undertaken thus far have aimed to promote novel research with innovative approaches and materials to maximise energy harvesting systems using benign processes. I am currently working on the CARE-O-SENE project focussing on model catalyst design for the production of sustainable aviation fuels.
