I just got back from Addis Ababa last night, where I attended a 3 day workshop on the potential for small scale biogas in sub-Saharan Africa. The workshop was a follow up from the one held in Kampala earlier this year.

Our research group showcased some of the work which I had done on remote monitoring, the toolkit being developed for maintaining our biogas units, along with contributions from Greg Austin (Agama Energy) on the design features of the unit at Leo Marquard Hall. The conference was certainly very intensive and I think it was a great platform for exchange of ideas between many specialists in a variety of fields. It looks like we all certainly have our work cut out for us and we'll be focused on putting together a few papers in the next few months. I look forward to it.

Apart from the business, it was a wonderful opportunity to experience a rich culture in a beautiful place with a truly amazing group of people, and I'm grateful to all those that made it happen. Amesegenalo! (Thank you)!
