2020 Young Engineer of the Year award

Byron Mawer PrEng, an alumni of our Geotechnical Engineering Division, won the 2020 South African Institution Of Civil Engineering (SAICE) Young Engineer of the Year award. This prestigious award is given as an honour to a young engineer under the age of 36 years who has rendered outstanding service to the profession and made a contribution of distinction to civil engineering in South Africa. Byron works for JG Afrika and is currently the chairman of the SAICE Western Cape Branch.
