EBE Talks is a project of the University of Cape Town (UCT) Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment (EBE). The faculty produces impactful research of high international standing and local relevance. While some projects are tackled by individual academic staff members, most research is conducted in close cooperation between academic staff and their postgraduate research students, often targeting inter-disciplinary collaboration in groups that include partners from different sections, departments or faculties at UCT. Frequently, research is also done with partners from other institutions, both locally and internationally.
The EBE departments host some of the most advanced laboratories and research facilities on the African continent. They allow us to conduct both scientific and practically-orientated research of high impact and local relevance. Our work is largely supported by local and international governmental agencies, non-profit organisations, industry partners, and private donors.
Interested parties from private and industry sectors are invited to contribute to the research done in the UCT EBE Faculty. Your contribution could take the form of:
- research partnership and knowledge contribution;
- proposal submission for research topics or practical implementation of research outputs; or
- financial research support in the form of project funding, student support or general research funding.
Please get in touch with our EBE Faculty office via email ebe-faculty@uct.ac.za. Our staff can provide further information and can connect you with our researchers according to your requirements and interests.
