Dr Sebastian Skatulla elected as Member of ISCCBE

Dr Sebastian Skatulla has been elected as President of the South African Association for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (SAAM).

SAAM serves the mechanics community in South Africa and promotes activities concerning theoretical, experimental and computational mechanics in SA in order to enhance the development of expertise in mechanics in this country. SAAM represents the interests of the mechanics community of South Africa being recognised nationally and internationally as an adhering organisation of the International Union for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM).

The association provides South African representation in the organisation, planning and hosting of international IUTAM congresses and periodically coordinates and organises South African conferences on theoretical, experimental and computational mechanics (SACAM).
