Directions to UCT
From Cape Town city via M3: If you are on the M3 travelling in the direction of Muizenberg, just beyond Mostert's Mill (windmill) on your left, take the Woolsack Drive/University of Cape Town turn-off (Exit 7 Rosebank – M89). For Upper Campus, turn right at the traffic lights on Woolsack Drive and go under the bridge and round a hairpin bend to the northern entrance of the campus.
From Main Road: If you are driving along Main Road, from either direction, you will need to turn from Main Road into Woolsack Drive (on the corner in front of the Baxter theatre) and then turn left at the traffic lights on Woolsack Drive for middle campus, or continue under the bridge and round the hairpin bend to upper campus.
Visitors Reception and Information Centre
This is situated at the entrance to UCT Upper Campus, on the left just after the Sports Centre and you are required to stop here to arrange a temporary visitor parking permit, directions and campus maps. See Information Centre on map.
Transport
The UCT Shuttle service is available to staff, students and visitors to UCT. You may need to show confirmation that you are attending a course or lectures at the university, such as an email of confirmation that you are attending a CPD course.
A scheduled service is available 7 days a week including a late night service. It operates between all residences, campuses and local public transport terminals.
The North Stop on Upper Campus is the UCT Shuttle stop closest to the New EBE Building.
For information, see the UCT Shuttle webpage or the UCT transport information page.
If you are using public transport, the closest metrorail station is Rosebank (Southern Line). For more information, see MetroRail routes and Cape Town train times. You can walk up to the Tugwell Residence on Main Road and catch the UCT Shuttle from there.
Parking
On the first day of the course you will need to report to the UCT Visitors Reception and Information Centre where a temporary visitor parking permit may be obtained. See Information Centre on map. You may then park on campus in any unmarked or visitors bay, or where directed by the Visitors Centre staff. A parking fee may apply. Parking after 4pm is open and unregulated.

The CPS 24-hour hotline is 021 650 2222/3 (use the last four digits only if calling from a UCT extension)
Disability Services
UCT Disability Service works to remove any physical, policy, information and attitude barriers that might prevent students and staff from fulfilling their potential. It promotes the policy of equal opportunities adopted by the university. It assists the university to deal correctly and appropriately with disabled students, staff, prospective students, visiting academics and other visitors.
For further information and to arrange for support or special assistance, please visit the Office of Inclusivity and Change (OIC) website.
Library Access
Special arrangements can be made for CPD students to use the UCT Chancellor Oppenheimer Library. You will be required to sign the guest register and present your ID document (with photograph) at library reception whenever you visit the library. There is an entrance fee, but this allows for multiple entrances. You may use the Library's print materials and may have limited staff assistance, but have no borrowing privileges. See library opening hours.
