Only instruct payment on receipt of the invoice.

Generally, you will receive the invoice 2-3 weeks after registration; however, in some cases you may only receive the invoice during the last two (2) weeks prior to the start of the course. There is sufficient time to do payment prior to the start of the course. In cases where the invoice is received within one (1) week prior to the start of the course or during the course, we require a letter or email from your company confirming that payment will be processed on receipt of the invoice; and you will still be able to attend the course.

Your company's unique UCT customer number is stated on the invoice. The UCT customer number needs to be stated as reference when doing the payment.

Proof of payment

Please send proof of payment via email to ebe-cpd@uct.ac.za stating the course name and "payment" in the subject line.

Cancellations and refunds

Once your registration is confirmed, your name will be added to the class list. If you are no longer able to attend, a written request for cancellation must be received via email (ebe-cpd@uct.ac.za) no later than one (1) week prior to the start of the course and will incur a cancellation fee of R500 if the payment has been made. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received later than one (1) week prior to the start of the course and you will be marked as absent, which will be reflected on your Professional Development Career record at UCT.

The CPD Programme Office reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient registrations are received. Should a course be cancelled by the CPD Programme Office, you will receive an official email in this regard. Any fees paid will be refunded in full.

Discounts

Discounts are available, under certain circumstances, for staff and students at UCT and students from other tertiary institutions. Group discounts may also be available. Please contact the CPD Programme Office via email (ebe-cpd@uct.ac.za) for further information.

Attendance and certificates

Please be advised that registers are taken for all courses to confirm attendance and qualify for certificates.

Some courses may be undertaken outside of normal working hours, while others may require attendance for a number of days on a full-time basis.

Course attendance and completion requirements vary by course. In general, attendance certificates are issued if a participant has attended at least 80% of the course. Completion certificates are issued if the participant attends the course and passes all course assignments or the course exam.

Certificates will only be issued if payment has been received in full. Certificates will be issued in the name submitted on the application form. Where possible, certificates will be handed out at the final lecture. If not, they will be posted via registered mail to the address on this form.

Entrance requirements
