Dr Stéphanie Bouckaert

Dr Stéphanie Bouckaert has more than fifteen years’ experience working on energy system modelling. She currently serves at the International Energy Agency as the Head of Demand Sectors Unit, within the World Energy Outlook team. She is leading research, analytical and scenario modelling activities of the end-use sectors (industry, transport, buildings) for the IEA’s flagship World Energy Outlook and major IEA special reports. She has contributed to 12 editions of the Outlook and was a lead author of landmark IEA reports, including Net Zero by 2050, Africa Energy Outlook 2022 and 2019 editions, Latin America Energy Outlook and Chile 2050 Energy Transition Roadmap.

Ms. Bouckaert obtained a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium, as well as a master’s degree specializing in energy systems optimization (OSE) and a PhD in applied mathematics from MINES ParisTech, France.
