The PCS unit is located within UCT’s Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment (EBE).
We run courses and workshops, modules and ad-hoc sessions related to professional and academic communication across the Faculty.
The PCS lecturers base their teaching on up-to-date industry practice as well as academic research around engineering education. Methodologies such as small group work, role-play, flipped classroom and class discussions ensure that students are given ample opportunities to practice professional skills and competencies.
Our goal is to equip students to thrive in the university and beyond by building their communication skills and professionalism.
We also offer corporate training solutions for individuals and organisations looking to upskill in the areas of professional communication and workplace functioning.
