James Dicks
PhD candidate
James is currently pursuing a PhD that focuses on incorporating itaconic acid and its derivatives into biobased polymers. His research aims to efficiently functionalise biobased platform molecules, such as vegetable oils, lignin model compounds, second-generation sugars, and terpenoids under mild conditions. This work aims to develop novel monomers and polymers for speciality purposes such as additive manufacturing, shape memory polymers, and covalent adaptable networks.
