Based on its strong and unique evidence generating platforms, the ESRG undertakes policy analysis and provides advice on topics of energy and climate policy and regulation and their socio-economic impacts.
ESRG experts engage in just transition processes at international, national and local levels, serving on the Powering Past Coal Alliance’s taskforce, the Mpumalanga Green Economy Cluster steering committee, the National Business Initiative’s Just Transition Pathways Advisory Board and the industry working group for the South African Renewable Energy Masterplan.
The ESRG team employs specialists who study and analyse energy demand trends in the main industrial sub-sectors, transport, households, commerce, as well as developments in energy supply through power generation, coal mining, oil and gas, nuclear power and renewables.
