Guy Cunliffe
Guy Cunliffe is a South African mixed-methods energy and climate systems research analyst, specialising in qualitative and quantitative analysis of integrated energy systems and their implications for climate change mitigation and other co-benefits, primarily in the South African context. Guy has modelling experience mainly with the SATIMGE framework, based on the IEA-ESTAP TIMES energy modelling platform.
Guy’s recent work has focused primarily on net zero energy pathways for South Africa, in the context of climate change mitigation as well as enabling a just and inclusive energy transition for all South Africans. Guy’s work covers technical analysis of scenario pathways for different energy futures, as well as the policy implications and gaps in the current discourse that enable or hinder sustainable energy development. His prior work focused on climate change equity, as well as industrial energy efficiency analysis and opportunities.
