Nasibe Nosrati Ghods
Nosaibeh Nosrati Ghods is a researcher at the Energy Systems Research Group (ESRG) at the University of Cape Town. With a multidisciplinary background in chemical and energy engineering, she specializes in techno-economic modeling, energy transition strategies, and the integration of sustainable fuels into existing energy systems. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UCT, where her research focused on bioethanol fermentation processes to support South Africa’s renewable energy goals. She further expanded her expertise through postdoctoral research in photocatalytic processes and energy modeling. Her current work involves bottom-up energy modeling to assess pathways for reducing fossil fuel dependency. Her research interests include renewable energy, industrial decarbonization, and energy systems modeling. She uses OSeMOSYS, TIMES, MAED, and Tableau, applying these tools for energy system optimization and scenario analysis.
