This bottom-up electricity demand projection tool was developed by the Energy Systems Research Group (ESRG) in support of the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) 2023. This model provides a granular view of South Africa's energy future, generating hourly demand profiles broken down by economic sector and province to account for GDP trends and energy efficiency improvements.
