Ashleigh Dingwall
Ashleigh Dingwall is a Master’s student in the Department of Chemical Engineering, under the Energy Systems Research Group (ESRG). Her research is focused on assessing the potential of the advanced Climate, Land, Energy, and Water systems (CLEWs) modelling framework, implemented in OSeMOSYS, to support national climate mitigation planning in South Africa.
Prior to this, Ashleigh served as the intern on the project to develop and allocate South Africa's Sectoral Emissions Targets (SETs) to 2030, commissioned by GIZ (the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), and DFFE.
Alongside her Master’s studies, Ashleigh has contributed to the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme, assessing the feasibility of using OSeMOSYS as a tool for national climate and energy policy analysis in South Africa. She has also supported the preparation and delivery of OSeMOSYS training courses for stakeholders on modelling applications for energy and climate policy.
