Professor Stéphane Zaleski, Professor of Mechanics at Université Pierre et Marie Curie Paris and head of the Jean Le Rond d'Alembert Institute of UPMC & CNRS, visited the InCFD research group for a week in December 2016. Prof. Zaleski's research interest is the use of numerical methods for the simulation multiphase flow, this provides insight into the physics of atomisation, droplet impacts and bubble dynamics. He is responsible for the development of the SURFER, PARIS and Gerris computer codes. Prof. Zaleski is also currently co-supervising InCFD member Leon Malan's PhD.
