Management and administration
The day-to-day management and administration of the Centre is undertaken by the CfTS Director, Roger Behrens, supported by the Centre's administrative and academic staff.
Advisory Board
The CfTS Advisory Board meets annually to advise on course curricula and the positioning of the Centre within the South African tertiary education environment.
The Board includes representation from the following bodies:
- South African Department of Transpor (DoT)
- Passenger Rail Association of South Africa (PRASA)
- South African Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL)
- Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works (TPW)
- Cape Town Transport and Urban Development Authority (TCT-TDA)
- UCT staff and students
- Selected individuals with experience and expertise in the fields of transport planning, traffic engineering, bus operations management, and non-motorised transportation
Accreditation
The CfTS is an accredited research group with the UCT University Research Committee (URC). Accreditation involves internal and external peer-review across 17 criteria spanning topics such as governance, sustainability, international standing, collaboration and engaged scholarship. The CfTS meets all of these criteria.
