The Centre for Transport Studies (CfTS) actively participates in local, national and international transport and mobility policy work. Amongst others, we contribute to policy design and development, prepare policy documentation and guidelines, and contribute to and organise platforms to debate policy and related implementation activities. Our people also engage in commissioned policy work in the transport field in their capacities as topic experts.

Our policy work includes a variety of projects.

  • A guide for investing in green transport energy and efficiency for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
  • Input to a multi-country urban mobility and accessibility policy development programme, for the Africa Transport Policy Programme (SSATP)
  • Input to a multi-stakeholder dialogue on public transport reform in Maputo hosted by the Mozambican Ministry of Transport & Communication and the Maputo and Matola Municipalities
