Background
I am a 2010 chemical engineering graduate from University of Cape Town. My higher education qualification includes a masters in engineering from Stellenbosch University. I have had three years of postgraduate experience in the mining field, with special focus in Platinum Group Metals (PGM) processing. My exposure has ranged from PGM flotation, smelting, mineral refining and iron ore washing. My three years of experience includes a graduate training programme offered by Anglo American Platinum. On top of the graduate training, I have had the opportunity of being part of a commissioning team of a base metals refinery, 38 MW furnace and an iron ore washing plant in Republic of Congo. My key specialities are process modelling, developing data capturing systems, transforming data into meaningful results, process optimisation and trouble shooting. My personal interests lie in process modelling, process control and using simple tools such as Microsoft Excel and Matlab.
