Background
Andrea completed her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science Honours degrees in Earth Sciences at Stellenbosch University in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In 2017, she was a National Research Foundation (NRF) intern based in the Centre for Minerals Research at UCT. She then enrolled for a MSc in 2018 at UCT and upgraded to PhD in mid-2019. Her PhD research focused on improving the flotation response of altered platinum group element (PGE) ores. She received her PhD degree in December 2021. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in CMR, where she focuses on process mineralogy research.
