CeBER Research Day 2012 treated staff and students to a respite from the routine of offices and labs to celebrate yet another successful year of research within the Centre. The third annual Research Day was hosted on 22nd August 2012 at Silvermist Wine Estate, set amongst the vineyards and mountain-views of the unspoiled Constantia Valley. The day showcased a variety of powerpoint and poster presentations, promoting synergy between different research areas and encouraging questions and discussion.  This year’s guest speaker was UCT’s Mike Herrington from the Graduate School of Business, who joined CeBER to share his journey from academia to business and back again as well as the insights that he gleaned along the way.  To round off the day, all participants were served a delicious lunch and presented with a CeBER scarf to ward off the remnants of winter chill. Many thanks to this year’s organisers Marc Brighton, Lucinda Bromfield and Sarah Jones for a lovely day, thoroughly enjoyed by all!
