CeBER Participates in Three Minute Thesis Competition

The Innovation and Research Department, at University of Cape Town (UCT), conducted their first ever Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT) on 22 February 2017. The Centre for Bioprocess Engineering Research (CeBER) were proud to see three of their students participate  in this event -  Liabo Motleleng, Rajesh Sharma and Bronwyn White - who got selected to present their outstanding research along with sixteen other doctoral students from other departments. Durga Prasad, a bright doctoral student from CeBER and also a star member of UCT Toastmaster’s club took on the role of Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the event.

The challenge of the three-minute thesis competition was for the research students to sum-up 3 to 5 year-long studies into three-minute oral presentations that were understandable to a non-technical audience and panel of judges.

Congratulations to all our CeBER participants, and particularly to Liabo Motleleng who stood the first runner-up and received a cash prize of R1000. The winner will represent the University of Cape Town at the National 3MT competition on 24 March 2017.
