CMR presents short course at Central South University

Professor Cyril O’Connor and Dr Belinda McFadzean visited Central South University in Changsha, China, from 9-12 April 2019 to present a short course entitled “Current Progress in Minerals Processing”.  The course was attended by staff and students from Central South University and Kunming University of Science and Technology. Ten lectures were presented over a period of three days and the culmination of the visit was the conferring of an Honorary Professorship on Professor Cyril O’Connor by the Deputy Vice President of Central South University, Professor Hu Yuehua. This is a singular honour from a university which is ranked in the top twenty of 2800 universities in China and was recently ranked number two in the world in Mineral Processing using the Shanghai Rankings (2018). Previous recipients of Honorary Professorships at CSU are Prof Ponisseril Somasundaran of Colombia University, New York, Prof Jan Miller, University of Utah, Prof Roe-Hoan Yoon, Viginia Tech and Prof Barry Wills, MEI.
