Biography:

Amber has more than 15 years experience in field research, public health policy and research, as well as many years experience teaching and supervising in higher education (with courses specific to environmental health, epidemiology, evidenced based healthcare, systematic reviews and ethics, medical and social anthropology, sustainable water management, among others). Amber’s research explores wellbeing - so a wider notion of health beyond simply biomedical concerns - thereby incorporating mental health, and social aspects of health. Her research focus intersects public health, environmental sciences, particularly relations with water and medical anthropology with a focus on engaged research methods to build on activism. Amber has ample experience in engagement, public outreach, grant application, research management, systematic research methods, clinical trials research and evidence assessments.
