Biography:

Shaine Raseale is a Junior Research Fellow at the Catalysis Institute based in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. He has a BSc Hons degree in Chemistry (University of Limpopo, 2013), an MSc in Chemistry (Universität Leipzig - Gemarny, 2017) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (UCT, 2022). He does research in Heterogeneous catalysis focused on the development of novel supported nanomaterials as catalysts for conversion of carbon dioxide (CCU), ethane, DME and hydrogen feedstocks into value-added products via Oxidative Dehydrogenation, reverse Water Gas Shift, Dry reforming and DME to green Liquified Fuel Gas reactions. He has supervised several 4th year and post graduate students in the field and is an active supervisor. Before his current role, he worked as a Research Assistant (2020) at the same institute.
