Ruixuan Qi

Ruixuan attended Pretoria Boys’ High School, where he received academic honours and half colours for sport. After matriculating in 2013, he went on to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. He gained work experience from the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) during his vacations and graduated with honours in 2017.

Currently, Ruixuan is studying towards his MSc under the supervision of Prof. Genevieve Langdon and A/Prof. Steeve Chung Kim Yuen. His project aims to determine the relationship between particle velocity and cylindrical charge properties under confined and partially confined environments. Both experimental blast tests and numerical simulations will be performed during the course of this work.
