Carol Ngwenya wins 2018 Chemical Engineering Poster Prize at EBE PG Research Expo
The fifth annual EBE postgraduate Research Expo was hosted by the EBE postgrad student council on Wednesday the 9th May 2018. This event was initiated to showcase research across the faculty and encourage collaboration, networking and communication across research disciplines. Four of CeBER’s students had abstracts accepted for presentation at the expo: Carol Ngwenya, Charlotte Wessels, Qubekani Ngulube and Donald Mjonono. Each participant was required to present a poster to a panel of judges who chose one prize winner from each Department. MSc student, Carol Ngwenya was awarded the prestigious Chemical Engineering Poster Prize for her work on the valorisation of confectionery waste as a substrate for renewable energy production. Congratulations to Carol and the other CeBER representatives for an outstanding contribution to this significant initiative.
