Shilpa Rumjeet Selected as Green Talent Winner 2018
CeBER are proud to announce that Shilpa Rumjeet, CeBER’s wastewater biorefinery Project Coordinator, was selected as one of 25 outstanding young scientists to win the Green Talents Competition 2018. Out of 736 applicants from more than 100 countries, Shilpa was chosen to represent UCT amongst the sustainability research elite in Germany at the international Science Forum from the 13th – 27th October. This programme supports highly gifted researchers in the field of sustainable development and gives them the opportunity to visit research hotspots across Germany, where they can network and establish relationships for future cooperation. Shilpa was honoured alongside her cohorts at an award ceremony which took place on the 22nd October 2018. Congratulations to Shilpa who will return to Germany in 2019 for a fully funded research stay, to secure the final benefit of this award.
