Representing CPU at ISIC22 in Glasgow
The 22nd International Symposium on Industrial Crystallization (ISIC22) was held from 5 - 8 September 2023 at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. This prestigious conference takes place every three years, where discussions are held amongst industry and academia on the lastest research and technology within the area of industrial crystallization. Various themes within crystallization were covered including fundamentals, new and sustainable technologies, along with process modelling, design and control.
The Crystallization and Precipitation Research Unit (CPU) is proud to have had 3 members participate. The two oral presentations were held by Lerato Motsepe, titled "Investigating the effect of heat exchanger roughness and surface energy on scaling during eutectic freeze crystallization" and Jac Sussens, titled "The Effect of Recirculation Rate on the Crystallization of REE Recovered
using Antisolvent Crystallization in a Fluidised Bed Reactor". A poster presentation was done in absentia by Tinjombo Octavious Baloyi titled "Investigation on the effect of mesomixing on crystal quality during antisolvent crystallization of Nd2(SO4).8H2O.
