The role that WiMSA plays in helping women build sustainable careers in the mining industry
Women in the mining industry are presented with various challenges daily. Gender based violence, discrimination of various forms, biases in many different contexts and situations, and unfortunately an overwhelming sense of self-doubt, lack of support and encouragement.
Women in Mining South Africa (WIMSA) is a registered non-profit organization that provides a platform for women that supports women. Our purpose is to inspire women to build a better world through mining, and we do this by offering guidance and support that assists women both personally and professionally, through various discussions and initiatives on thought leadership, stakeholder collaboration, mentorship, and networking. These discussion and initiative focal points will be explored in detail.
