Applying to the EBE Faculty
Prospective undergraduate and postgraduate international students should visit the International Office's webpage
International students who intend to study at UCT for only one or two semesters or international students who wish to be affiliated to UCT for short periods should visit the Semester Abroad website.
English language proficiency
As English is the language used in teaching and assessment, all students must meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements.
Funding for international students
Undergraduate International students will need to fund their own studies. The University is unable to offer financial aid to international students
The International Academic Programmes Office (IAPO) is the first port of call for all international students and will gladly assist you or help you find appropriate assistance. The office:
- provides a central contact point for all international students, staff & visitors;
- assists with the renewal of study permits;
- facilitates pre-registration of all international students at UCT;
- administers international fees;
- liaises with the UCT Student Clubs and Societies;
- provides information booklets and pamphlets specifically for international students;
- facilitates and manages international, inter-institutional agreements;
- acts as a resource centre on international universities and education opportunities;
- manages collaborative programmes in Africa;
- runs a dynamic Semester Study Abroad Programme;
- promotes interaction between international and local students through activities.
