Congratulations to Kevin Sack who received the SA Association for the Advancement of Science – S2A3 medal. The medal serves to commend outstanding South African research students graduating at the Master's level. Kevin’s Master’s degree was awarded with distinction in the dissertation and the degree with distinction. His supervisor was Dr Sebastian Skatulla from the Department of Civil Engineering. His thesis title was Biological Tissue Mechanics with Fibres Modelled as one Dimensional Cosserat Continua. Applications to Cardiac Tissue in Healthy and Diseased States. Kevin is currently registered for his PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
