UCT honoured School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics’ Terence Swarts for 45 years of service at the 2025 Annual Staff Awards, recognising a journey that began in 1980 when he arrived as a cleaner with little formal education but a promise he believed was written in destiny. Swarts reflected on a journey shaped by the support and humanity of colleagues who became family.
