Geoff is a professional civil engineer with 20-years of industry experience specialising in water treatment applications with extensive experience in the complete life-cycle of water treatment works. His speciality is the planning and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary water treatment works projects. This skill has been developed through his project management, and design engineer roles on several complex WTW projects.
Geoff is a registered professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), a fellow of the South African Institute of Civil Engineering (SAICE), and a member of the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA). Geoff completed his training with the Water Research Group in the civil engineering department of the University of Cape Town, specialising in municipal water and wastewater treatment.
His interest in the UCT Civil Engineering Advisory board is to ensure that the teaching and research remains industry relevant and will empower students with a solid theoretical foundation to enable them to thrive in industry. He is passionate about the value that civil engineering provides to society and encouraging students to strive to make a difference in their careers.
