Erik is a strategic developmental financier / entrepreneur focused on technology, innovation and sustainability challenges internationally.
He is a director of Vaalbara, a strategic investment company with a developmental agenda, and is a member of the Swiss-American group Acutronic A.G.’s International Advisory Board as well as the Advisory Board of the Engineering Faculty at the University of Cape Town.
He holds an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge (Cambridge-MIT Institute), and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (awarded with First Class Honours) with a second major in Economics from UCT.
At Cambridge, Erik focused largely on the space economy/sector, renewable energy and international venture / growth investment in key technology sectors.
While at UCT, he was elected to serve on the Students' Representative Council (SRC) and was Green Campus Initiative (GCI) Chairperson.
Erik tries to spend as much time as possible in nature, reading and travelling.
