Gamelihle is currently seconded by the United Nations to the South Africa Government as Chief Technical Advisor to the Expanded Public Works Programme.
He has over 27 years international professional experience, mainly in infrastructure development, in 13 countries. He has worked in Government, Consulting, Applied Research and for the United Nations in various capacities; liaising with Governments, Universities, Infrastructure Authorities, Employers’ Organizations, Unions, Donors, United Nations Agencies, Consultants, Contractors and Communities on the policy, financing, feasibility, research, design, training, employment creation and implementation of infrastructure and environmental projects, whilst fostering circular economy and climate resilience principles.
Gamelihle’s academic background includes an Honours degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters in Business Administration (University of Bedfordshire, UK), a Masters in Biomimicry (Arizona State University, USA). He is also one of the four Certified Biomimicry Professionals in Africa. He has also taken a course in Artificial Intelligence with MIT (USA).
