The faculty will be in a position to confirm your offer in January 2025 after we have received the following:
Your National Senior Certificate (NSC) results, endorsed for degree study, which meet the Faculty Points Score or Weighted Points Score requirements, and Maths and Physical Science requirements for the programme you have applied for. You are able to accept your offer via the application portal. Offers are also made to non-NSC applicants.
To be confident that you will be accepted, you want to achieve the points required under Band A. Or, for non-NSC schooling examinations, the non-NSC entry requirements.
There are entrance scholarships that are offered to the top applicants. You can find information here.
Yes – during orientation, every first-year student will be allocated a mentor who is a senior student in their department.
Transfers are possible for first-time entering applicants if entrance requirements are met, however, it is also dependent on the capacity of the desired programme. If the programme is already full, the department is not obligated to accommodate a transfer request. Unfortunately, as a result, transfer requests cannot be guaranteed.
Final offers are made on final results so the Faculty cannot guarantee admission if entrance requirements are not met. Guaranteed admission is only granted to those who meet the entrance requirements listed under Band A or, for non-NSC schooling examinations, the non-NSC entrance requirements.
Please visit the website to find out about the international admission requirements.
If you are expecting a bursary, scholarship or loan payment which has not been received, please supply all details to the Fees Office as soon as possible and forward the statement to your sponsor for payment. For more information, please contact the UCT Fees Office for assistance.
