Registration
- Students must log in to their PeopleSoft student portal from the dates noted below to receive the registration link. Academic advisors will respond to queries submitted via an advisor tab within the registration system.
- For international students, pre-registration clearance (i.e., visa, medical aid, and fee checks) will be completed remotely, before academic registration.
- All students must be registered by the deadline of 13 February 2026. Students who register late may face a late registration penalty of R2000.
- Laptop requirements
An intermediate to advanced laptop is compulsory for all students in the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment (EBE). The laptop specifications are updated and published on the EBE website EBE Laptop Requirements.

Returning students

Find details of your registration window at https://uct.ac.za/students/faculty-engineering-built-environment-registration or visit our Amathuba site EBE Registration. The Amathuba site will give you a breakdown of the registration dates for each department in the faculty as well as contain links to your department’s site.
Attendance
All students must be on campus for the start of lectures.
Do not wait until you return to Cape Town before you register. It is important that you register in the window allocated for your programme. All returners must be registered by the end of Friday, 13 February 2026. Lectures start on Monday, 16 February 2026.
Students who register late may face a late registration penalty of R2000.
- All returning students will be activated on PeopleSoft for registration, this includes students with Supplementary and Deferred Exams. Students must log in to their PeopleSoft student portal to receive the registration link.
