WELCOME TO THE EBE TRANSFORMATION COMMITTEE

The Transformation Committee (TC) in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (EBE) at the University of Cape Town (UCT) is dedicated to fostering a culture that promotes inclusivity, and an environment where staff and students can thrive. The TC is committed to ensuring that the faculty reflects the modern day South African context, equipping students and staff to tackle today's challenges.

Some of our responsibilities include:

1. Evaluating, monitoring, and offering suggestions on transformation initiatives to ensure that they meet their intended objectives and goals.
2. Organising various events annually to foster social cohesion among staff and students.
3. Overseeing the progress of transformation within the faculty, in alignment with UCT’s transformation objectives.
4. Representing the faculty at the institutional Transformation Forum through the chair of the EBE TC.
5. Raise awareness about the relevant institutional and faculty transformation policies.

The TC is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that we can meet our stated objectives. We are thus happy to welcome any input and suggestions from the broader EBE community that can assist us in achieving these challenging goals.
