A small but active group of academic staff members conducts research and carries out postgraduate teaching in the fields of structural engineering, structural mechanics and computational mechanics. Areas of research are multi-disciplinary to a high degree, and range from fundamental to applied and computational nature, structural engineering and mechanics to biomechanics. Members engage in postgraduate teaching and thesis supervision, participate actively in various scientific and technical committees at both the national and international level, provide consultancy expertise to local industry, and arrange short courses, workshops, seminars and conferences from time to time.
